I could imagine that Slot adds another player into these combinations (prob. Szoboszlai on the right / Macca/Gakpo on the left) which Leverkusen could not because of their 3 at the back. E.g. Frimpong -> Wirtz -> Salah -> Szobo on the underlap -> cutback to Wirtz / across the box to Gakpo.
We wait with baited breath to see what tactical treats Arne Slot is going to unleash next season. I'm sure he'll be using these two together.
