Fantastic article with lots of insight. Thank you so much for looking into it.

It is tough to draw conclusions from these, I assumed that the impact of squad size would yield a higher contribution across the board. Arsenal are an interesting case as they recruited for depth in the summer, yet you wouldn’t know from this data. Maybe it actually supports the case that a strong, consistent first eleven contributes more to league success than depth. What do you think?

For a data perspective I'd have to dig through some old FBRef pages. But I feel like Liverpool had the balance pretty much perfect last season - a relatively settled XI with good rotation options. Ten men made 28+ starts, with Gakpo not far off that (23) and Jones starting every other game (19). It will have helped that Diaz could play two positions well too.
