Interesting stuff, and surprising given we sold the man most fans would say was most likely to be caught offside in Núñez.

Maybe a sign that opponents are not too worried about our pace in behind so are more likely to try and play offside as they think they will get back in anyway even if it goes wrong for them.

Darwin was the man most likely to be offside during his time at the club, no question: https://www.sports-reference.com/stathead/tiny/lK6bF It seems to have become more of a team-wide issue.

Your explanation to why it is happening is probably correct.

Something else I should've checked while writing the article but have just seen: the four teams that have caught Liverpool offside at least six times (Villa, City, Leeds, Spurs) are all in the top five for most offsides provoked this season. They are the masters and Liverpool fell head first into their traps.
