A missed penalty and two goal line clearances will be easily forgotten, unfortunately. It's hard to fault the result, we didn't find the net when given the opportunity.
Frustrating definitely but there was a slight swagger about us for a good portion of this game. I'm not sure if there's a CL swagger about us and there's plenty of issues to fix but I don't think we're very far off being quite a good side. Not close either, but not too far.
Yes, that was the frustrating part, which has felt like an issue for Slot even last season occasionally: "...the second problem, in that the Reds didn’t create much of note in the 32 minutes that followed the equaliser." Klopp's teams always felt like they could put their boot on the throat of (especially average) opposition teams in the last quarter of a match at Anfield. (Relevant here as Burnley scored 65th minute)
Does, "Only 11 of the 110 examples in FBRef’s database saw a Premier League side register less xGOT when having 10 shots on target," mean our shots on target were not very convincing, to get a low xG (of OT efforts)?
Frustrating really.
I thought it was another great performance that just didn't get the result it deserved....again.
On the surface not beating any of the promoted teams at home looks bad, but v Leeds we were denied a clear pen that skewed matters.

Yes - it's fine margins at this level. With some more luck we could have had a decent winning run this year.
No words 😶 🤐
Just one really.
Bugger!
No sorry digits not working 🙈

Wasn't that one of our biggest gains last year over the previous one, fewer shots but from better positions? So this is a regression unfortunately
Andrew's Substack is an oasis of calm and sense amid the howls from some places. ❤️ 💙
2.95 Xg! That includes the pen I guess
1.85 without the pen, I think
Considering you are a stat boffin, Andrew (no offence intended, I tip my hat), you write very well. 🙂👍❤️
