I’d say the Gerrard factor is key to Trent hitting so many long range shots.
Before he set his sights on Real Madrid, he definitely wanted to be Liverpool captain, and every Red has watched a million highlight reels of Gerrard screamers.
There must be no better feeling of leading by example than smashing in a wonder goal from 30 yards to get your team a win or a point, but we know it’s not always the right choice to try it, and in truth, despite his quality, Trent has never got near Gerrard in long range shooting (passing probably a different matter).
Good point and I’d add it doesn’t just relate to Gerrard - it’s probably less of a thing now the game in this country has caught up tactically, but there was a ‘superman’ complex of the hero who saves the day, especially with the national team. It has perhaps seeped in a bit with Trent too.

...but it seems reasonable to assume Slot won't miss some of shooting choices.
