I was going to post this on Friday as usual then remembered that Liverpool are playing tomorrow night. So before it immediately goes out of date, here we go...

I understand the metric and comparison you've used (you explained it really clearly).

I still feel hitting the woodwork is always unlucky, assuming it was a shot on target (not a wild deflection). The attacker has beaten the crowded box, beaten the keeper, got everything almost perfect. A couple of centimetres one way or the other could see it go in off the post.

Liverpool's lack of luck this season has played out in so many different ways it's hard for me to keep track of it all.

Glad people like you do a better job of that!

Yeah there's certainly a degree of bad luck, I suppose I was just trying to quantify how unlucky it was in terms of whether a goal was that likely.
