The boss has work on the training ground to do here…

I believe that more than any player transfer, a major improvement can be gained from offensive corners. Our success rate from corners this season is 1,26% (3 goals from 239 corners all comps). According to Opta, EPL 23/24 concluded with a rate of 4,2% (https://theanalyst.com/2024/10/premier-league-corners-2024-25) which confirms that we are underperforming. If we would achieve that 4,2% rate, we would have 7 more goals at this stage of the season, which trumps Nunez goal output.

If you consider that an EPL level forward in the right age bracket with 0-5 goals per season goes for around 20M£, 5-10 g/season around 50M£ and 15+ g/season you are looking at 70M-100M£, it would not surprise me if improving our scoring rate from set pieces is one of the main areas that Slot will want to address in the summer.

That’s a good way of looking at it, the equivalent player goal output. In very broad terms, a goal scored equals a point too, which shows the value of any addition a team can make.
